Sita Mata Katha

"जनकसुता अवनिधिया राम प्रिया लव-कुश मात ।

चरणकमल जेहि उन बसै सीता सुमिरै प्रात ॥"

The story of Sita Mata, also known as Sita Devi or Janaki, is an important part of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Sita was the daughter of King Janaka of Mithila and was known for her beauty, intelligence, and devotion to Lord Rama.

As per the legend, King Janaka found Sita while he was plowing the field and decided to raise her as his own daughter. Sita grew up to be a skilled and virtuous princess and eventually married Lord Rama, the prince of Ayodhya, in a grand ceremony. However, soon after their marriage, Lord Rama was exiled to the forest for 14 years along with Sita and his brother Lakshmana. During their exile, Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, abducted Sita and took her to his kingdom.

Sita refused to submit to Ravana's demands and waited for Lord Rama to rescue her. With the help of Hanuman and an army of monkeys, Lord Rama waged a great battle with Ravana and eventually defeated him, rescuing Sita and returning to Ayodhya.Despite her long ordeal, Sita's character remained pure and steadfast throughout. However, when they returned to Ayodhya, rumors about her purity began to spread, and Lord Rama, in order to uphold his duties as a king and protect his people's opinions, asked Sita to undergo a test of fire known as the Agni Pariksha.

Sita, believing in her innocence and virtue, accepted the challenge and emerged unscathed from the fire, proving her purity. However, despite her innocence, Lord Rama sent her into exile once again, as he could not ignore the rumors that were spread against her.Sita then went to live in the forest and eventually gave birth to twin sons, Lava and Kusha. Many years later, Lord Rama, who had come to realize his mistake, reunited with Sita and the family lived happily thereafter. However, Sita, who had proven her purity and faithfulness, decided to return to her mother, the earth, and left her physical form.

Sita Mata is revered by millions of Hindus as an epitome of selflessness, devotion, and purity. Her story continues to inspire people to uphold their values and virtues despite facing adversity in life.
