Quinoa Upma Recipe
🌿Ingredients:

1 cup Dinesh Flour Mills Quinoa

2 cups water

1 tbsp oil or ghee

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tsp cumin seeds
-
1 tbsp chana dal (optional)

1 tbsp urad dal (optional)

1 green chili (slit)
-
1 inch ginger (grated)
-
1 medium onion (chopped)
-
1 carrot (finely chopped)
-
1/4 cup green peas
-
6-8 curry leaves
-
Salt to taste

Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) for garnish

Lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:

Rinse and cook quinoa:

Wash 1 cup of Dinesh Flour Mills Quinoa thoroughly in water.

Boil 2 cups of water in a pan. Add the rinsed quinoa and a pinch of salt.

Cook on low heat for about 12–15 minutes until the quinoa becomes soft and fluffy. Keep it aside.

Prepare tempering:

Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal, and let them brown slightly.

Add aromatics and vegetables:

Add green chili, grated ginger, and curry leaves.

Sauté onions until translucent.

Add chopped carrots and peas. Cook for 4–5 minutes until the veggies soften slightly.

Combine quinoa and cook:

Add the cooked quinoa to the pan. Mix well with the sautéed veggies and spices.

Adjust salt and stir gently to combine everything evenly.

Cover and simmer for 2–3 minutes for flavors to meld.

Finish and serve:

Garnish with fresh coriander and a dash of lemon juice if desired.

Serve hot for a nutritious breakfast or light dinner.
