Churma from Khapli Wheat  Recipe

Ingredients

  • Dinesh Flour Mills Khapli Wheat Atta – 2 cups

  • Desi Ghee – ½ cup (for dough + frying)

  • Powdered Jaggery / Sugar – ¾ cup (adjust to taste)

  • Milk / Water – as needed for kneading

  • Cardamom Powder – ½ tsp

  • Dry Fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins, pistachios) – chopped, 2 tbsp


Method

Step 1: Make the Dough

  1. In a bowl, take Dinesh Flour Mills Khapli Wheat atta.

  2. Add 2–3 tbsp melted ghee and mix well till it feels crumbly.

  3. Add little by little water (or milk) and knead into a stiff dough.

Step 2: Shape & Roast

  1. Divide the dough into small thick rounds (like bati/mini rotis).

  2. Roast them on a tawa or bake them in an oven at 180°C until crisp.
    (You can also deep fry them in ghee for a richer flavor.)

Step 3: Crush & Sweeten

  1. Once cooled, break the roasted batis into small pieces.

  2. Grind them coarsely in a mixer or crush by hand using a mortar-pestle.

  3. Mix in powdered jaggery/sugar, ghee, and cardamom powder.

Step 4: Garnish & Serve

  1. Add chopped dry fruits.

  2. Mix everything evenly.

  3. Serve warm with a drizzle of ghee on top.


Serving Tip: Traditionally enjoyed with dal-baati, churma pairs beautifully with a cup of chai as well.
