Vanilla Shortbread Cookies Recipe



  • 200g Dinesh Flour Mills Maida (all-purpose flour)
  • 100g Dinesh Flour Mills Caster Sugar (plus extra for dusting)
  • 200g unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter, caster sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gradually sift in the maida and salt, and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 0.5 cm.
  5. Cut out cookies using your desired cookie cutter shape.
  6. Place them on the baking tray and bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden at the edges.
  7. Once out of the oven, sprinkle some caster sugar over the warm cookies.
  8. Let them cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
