Multi tasking in order to be able to achieve more has become the primary nature of the most of us. We know of no other way than multi tasking. Technology is a great enabler in the direction of multi tasking. While we may be living under the impression that we are able to achieve more by following the fashion of multi tasking, we are actually not. Our mind ends up stressing itself more by focussing on a multitude of things at a given time.
Swami Vivekanand was highly against the idea of multi tasking. He said, “Do one thing at a time, and while doing it put your whole soul into it to the exclusion of all else”.
When a person is totally focussed on just one task, they become super effective and are able to achieve manifold more. Even if one wants to excel in more things than one, they should allocate time to each one of those activities to firmly stick to them. Play should not form a major part of the brain when preparing for an upcoming test. While playing, one must not focus on the next activity they might want to indulge in once they reach back home. If one is able to stick to just one task at a time, they can become super effective in that and end up achieving more.
In todays’ age and time, following this may sound a little tough but the ones who can manage not letting their mind wander into various activities can succeed easily
