Dinesh Flour Mills Lal Lobia, also known as Red Lobia, Red Cowpea, Lal Lobiya and Red Chawli, is a versatile whole pulse widely used in traditional Indian cooking. Its distinctive reddish-brown colour and familiar cowpea shape make it suitable for homestyle curries, masala gravies, chaat, pulao, salads, soups and rice bowls.
Our Lal Lobia is offered unpolished, with no added colour and no added preservatives. It is a practical pantry staple for preparing everyday lunch and dinner recipes.
After soaking and cooking until tender, Lal Lobia absorbs the flavours of onion, tomato, ginger and Indian spices beautifully. Prepare a comforting Lal Lobia Masala and serve it with steamed rice, jeera rice, roti, paratha or naan. Cooked Lal Lobia can also be mixed with chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, coriander, lemon and chaat masala to prepare a quick Lal Lobia Chaat.
