Ingredients
- 1 cup Dinesh Flour Mills Black Wheat Atta
- ½ cup Dinesh Flour Mills Besan
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small tomato, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped coriander
- 1 green chilli, finely chopped, optional
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Approximately 1½ to 1¾ cups water
- Oil or ghee for cooking
Method
- Add Black Wheat Atta and besan to a mixing bowl.
- Add onion, tomato, coriander, green chilli, cumin, turmeric and salt.
- Gradually pour in water while whisking to prepare a smooth batter.
- Rest the batter for 5 minutes.
- Heat a tawa and lightly grease its surface.
- Pour one ladleful of batter onto the tawa.
- Spread it gently into a medium-sized circle.
- Drizzle a little oil or ghee around the edges.
- Cook until the underside is firm and lightly browned.
- Turn and cook the other side.
- Serve hot with green chutney, tomato chutney or curd.

- Keep the batter slightly thinner than regular pancake batter.
- Add water if the batter thickens while resting.
- Spread the cheela gently to prevent it from breaking.
