Jaggery popcorn is a quick homemade snack made by coating freshly popped corn with melted jaggery syrup. It gives the crunchy popcorn a rich caramel-like sweetness and traditional flavor. Ingredients

  • ½ cup Dinesh Popcorn Makki

  • ¾ cup Dinesh Gud / Jaggery Powder

  • 1 tbsp Dinesh Flour Mills A2 Gir Cow Ghee or oil

  • 2 tbsp water

  • Pinch of Dinesh Flour Mills Organic Salt (optional)


Step-by-Step Recipe

1. Pop the popcorn

Heat 1 tablespoon ghee or oil in a deep pan.
Add popcorn kernels and cover with a lid.
Shake the pan occasionally until all kernels pop.

Transfer the popped corn to a large bowl.


2. Prepare jaggery syrup

In another pan add jaggery powder and 2 tablespoons water.
Heat on low flame and stir until the jaggery melts completely.

Cook until the syrup becomes slightly thick and sticky.


3. Coat the popcorn

Immediately pour the warm jaggery syrup over the popcorn.
Mix quickly using a spoon or spatula so that the popcorn gets evenly coated.


4. Cool and serve

Spread the popcorn on a plate and let it cool for a few minutes.
Once the jaggery coating sets, the popcorn becomes crunchy and ready to enjoy.
