Growth comes from within. Until an inner realisation occurs to a person, no matter how many people tell them something, they disagree to change.  Swami Vivekananda was well versed with this idea and hence he said, “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can Make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul”.   This teaching implies that it is important for one to introspect from time to time. It is when people look within do they realise a lot about themselves, their weak areas as well as their strengths. This helps people become a better version of themselves.   Even when one wishes to walk the path of spirituality, they should first look within. Once they look within, the path becomes clear. Others cannot help them become spiritual. Others can only guide them to an extent if they are spiritually inclined already.   When you adapt the habit of introspection, you soul becomes your true teacher. There is no better teacher than your own soul. It guides you through ups and downs, making you a better person along the way.   This teaching also implies the importance of self belief. The ones who believe in themselves are the ones who are successfully able to grown from the inside out, and not vice versa. The ones who listen to their soul are the ones who have unwavering belief in their own capabilities. They do not seek external affirmation as their soul guides them through everything. www.dineshflourmills.com

Swami Vivekananda believed that if the human beings are persistent enough, they have the potential to overcome any hurdle, when he said, “Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached”. This is a golden teaching by Swami Vivekananda where he insisted that persistence is the only key to success.   It is very common for a lot of us to give up on our beliefs and dreams if we fail in achieving them at once because of certain inconveniences and hurdles we come across. But, if we have the courage to fight back and stick to our goal, nothing can stop us from succeeding in it. So, it does not matter if we fail repeatedly as long as we are persistent without having the urge to deviate from the goal.   In actuality, this teaching of Swami Vivekananda was meant as an awakening call to the Indians so as they could come out of their hypnotised state and spread the message of peace allover. In the message, ‘arise’ meant a passionate call for the purpose of national awakening to obtain colonial freedom. ‘Arise’, on the other hand, meant coming out of the ‘hypnotism of weakness’, the men thought they were surrounded by. His idea was to make the citizens of the country come out of the state of helplessness and keep at it until the goal of freedom was achieved. https://www.dineshflourmills.com

This teaching in the words of Swami Vivekananda goes like this: “All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark”.   Swami Vivekananda was a firm believer in the idea of the self. He said that the power to change the world comes naturally if one starts believing in themselves first. This teaching by Swami Vivekananda makes every human being realise the powerhouse that dwells within them. It makes people realise the potential that they possess but never really knew about it.   We all know that God created us by putting life into us. God is the life inside us. If we do not believe in ourselves, it implies that we do not believe in God. We need to understand that God designed us for specific purposes - this idea helps strengthen our faith in ourselves. If we do not believe in this and think that God created us just by chance, we cannot build faith in our own selves. Losing self belief is like losing belief in something the God Himself created.   It also means that he respected individuality. Just because you are different does not mean that you are not right - this is what the teaching implies. What you need to do is have firm faith in your own capabilities and walk the path you think is right even when the world stands against you. Keep going without giving in to others’ expectations and beliefs. Have trust in yourself and your beliefs!
